about

I actually dreamed the melody and a chunk of the words, and was able to "bring them back" from the dream when I awoke. I sang them for Gawain, who promptly said, "Well, write the rest!" So I did!

lyrics

The Circle Returns to
The Place Where It Starts
By Kathleen Dunbar
Copyrighted by Kathleen Dunbar

I sing you a song in the mornin
A song in the mornin
A song in the mornin
I sing you a song in the mornin
For you my dear
I sing you a song

I send out a dove in the mornin
A dove in the morning
A dove in the mornin
I send out a dove in the mornin
For you my love
A dove in the dawn

Chorus (the heart)
Let the long road
End in a homecoming
Hard road – let it end in the heart
You belong here my dear
Always remember
The circle returns
To the place where it starts

Let it all go, the shadows and cracks
The thicket of briars
The brambles and thorns
I send you the softness of grass
The pleasure of joy
And the sweetness of home

I send you the silver and blue
The best precious red
The gold of the dawn
I send you my love and my heart
You send me yours
And the sweetness returns

Chorus (my heart)

I send you the freshness of mornin
The scent of the roses
The diamonds and dew
I send you what’s best in the mornin
Whatever you treasure
I send it to you

I send you a kiss in the mornin
Send this in the mornin:
Send laughter and love
Whatever reminds you’re precious
You’ll find it
For you my love I send you a hug

Chorus (your heart)

about

Kathleen Dunbar San Francisco, California

You may notice my songs are about angels and devils, birth, life, death, about creation and crumbling destruction—the troubles we humans get ourselves into and the choices we make—some of them funky, some of them ending in the dark, others rising into the light of morning. Touching, humorous, spellbinding storytelling—my songs brings you into the irony, the tragedy, and the possibilities of life. ... more
